You're not alone.

When you start a project you may feel like walking alone in the desert... but if you're motivated and have the necessary creativity and boldness you'll surely succeed. Our grant will just give you some fuel to walk in the desert...

Grant recipients will receive not only funding and also support from the staff of the Bienial of Fine Art and Documentary photography to help them start, finalize or refine their project.

Applying to our Grant requires having a finished work, a work in progress, or an idea that can be shown in some images as a blueprint of your idea. The project can fall under any photographic category: fine art, photojournalism, or documentary photography. The grant recipients will receive funding and support to help them finalize the project, or, if is finished, to refine it or to use the stipend to promote it, i.e. by making a specific website or enhancing the existing one. Although the Grant does not require the recipient to finish the project object of the funding in a specific timeframe, we will be in contact doing all the necessary follow up as means of support and consultation, as well as to help in the necessary promotion.

BELONGING - community of winners

Starting with the 4th edition, recipients and shortlisted in each Grant will conform the Biennial's Grant Community of Recognized Photographers. Each one will have a page in this site featuring their project and the respective statement, and will be connected among them, and with us, to exchange ideas about the evolution of this Biennial's Grant. Because once you're out of the desert but not longer alone, you can relax a little bit and imagine that now the desert has evolved to a relaxed beach of talented photographers, where you belong, being able to help us help others.
